The stars of the world scene – Shoplifter, Bahri, Cygan and Eliasson – will also come!

Even the global pandemic of the new coronavirus has not prevented the enormous interest of visual artists from all around the world in project Textile Art of Today. The renowned event once again attracted the attention of a wide range of authors, and 272 artists from all continents applied for the 6th year, with 40 students submitting the student section with their work. To our great pleasure, the invitation to the event was also accepted by three personalities of the contemporary world scene – Shoplifter – Hrafnhildur Arnardottir (Island), Kari Anne Helleberg Bahri (Norway), Włodzimierz Cygan (Poland) and Olafur Eliasson (Denmark) – who will confirm the influential international status of the event.

As we have previously announced, the leitmotif of the 6th year is ENVIRO as the focus we want to emphasize in the presentation of the international exhibition of textile art in its current form, which does not lack inventive visuals, crossing traditional boundaries of art, asking disturbing questions and emphasis on current technologies. That is why the ENVIRO AWARD will be awarded for the first time at the Textile Art of Today, which will be attended by 57 artists and 12 students out of a total of 312 registered authors. In the coming days, an international commission will meet to select the final composition of the authors for the 6th annual Textile Art of Today. We will, of course, inform you about the results.
